Important Registration Information

• Registration will be open from October 12^th to November 6^th. No registration or payments will be taken after the deadline.
• Registration fee is $9.00 per entry it doesn’t matter if you are a group or individual participant.
• Groups have a limit of 3 students. Groups may consist of students in the same or adjacent grades only. They will judged at the grade level of the oldest student.
• You do not need to provide a project title and description at the time of registration but will be required to do so at a later date.
• We will send you an email after Nov 6th confirming your registration. Please contact us if you do not receive an email by Nov 15. We will be sending periodic updates so it is important that you are on the mailing list.

• Display Boards will be sent home in December. All projects must use the provided boards.

Please read and carefully adhere to the rules and guidelines. Failure to do so may mean your project cannot be considered for participation in the Laurel Mountain Science Fair or the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival.

All projects are to be completed at home. Students are encouraged to think about topics that interest them and come up with ideas on their own. You may use science fair websites and books to help you get started. Parents may assist in getting materials, helping students organize, and providing general guidance. However, the project must reflect the students' own work and original thinking. Students should start early so that they have enough time to finish their projects. You should also allow enough time to present your project on the display board.

LME Rules and Procedures: We will adhere to the same rules that the Austin Energy Regional Science Festival uses so that our students' projects will qualify for that event. For your convenience, we have included in this package some of the relevant information from the Regional Festival's handbook.
