 LME PTA Fundraising
Overview
The Laurel Mountain PTA has set our 2009-2010 fundraising goal at $65,000. In order to meet this goal we will conduct two main fundraisers, the Fall Jungle Adventure Carnival and a Spring Event Fundraiser (details for the Spring 2010 event coming soon). These two events raise the majority of the money our PTA uses to provide or support:
- Programs: Art Volunteers, Homeroom Parent (parties), Hospitality, Inclusiveness, KPAW, Lion Hearts, Marathon Kids, Math Superstars, Music Volunteers, Parent Education, Safety, Site Based Projects, STEP
- Events: Family Picnic, Field Day, Fifth Grade Recognition, Global Fest, Red Ribbon Week, Reflections, Science Fair, Skating Parties, Staff Appreciation, Student Assemblies
- Outreach: Angel Fund, Anna Mitchell Scholarship, Clothes Closet, Libraries of Love, Teacher Scholarships
- Services: School Supplies, Planners, Directories, Spirit Items, Yearbook
- Operational Expenses: Bank Fees, Council Dues, Postage, General Meetings, Insurance, Leadership Training, Membership, Publicity, Storage, Website
- LME Fall and Spring Grants: These grants help our school purchase resources not covered by the school budget (see 2009-2010 Proposed Resource List below)

In addition to the Carnival and Spring Event, the PTA also raises money through in kind donations and rebate programs. The rebate programs include:
- Impact Martial Arts located at 12200 Research Blvd. (next to Duncan Donuts on the 183 access road) is offering Laurel Mountain families a wonderful opportunity to try out a martial arts or ultimate body shaping class for ONLY $25! And the best part, 100% of the proceeds come back to LME! Please go to the LME PTA Web Store at www.lmeptastore.org and click on “Impact Rebate” for more details and to purchase your $25 class voucher.
- Barnes & Noble “Summer Reading Fun” Bookfair on Saturday, May 1st -Join LME families at our Barnes and Noble Bookfair where 10-15% of your purchases will benefit the LME PTA. In addition to shopping you can enjoy story time readings by Laurel Mountain teachers, a choir performance and much more! So mark your calendars and watch for more information as the event nears.
- Catfish Parlour Night - On Tuesday, March 9th the Catfish Parlour will donate 15% of the entire evening's sales to the LME PTA. This is a fun event the entire family can enjoy. It even includes having our very own Principal, Jan Richards, as a guest chef!
- Double Dave's Pizza Night - On the 3rd Monday of each month the LME PTA receives a rebate from Double Dave's based on dine-in or delivery orders for that night. Be sure to mention you'd like your order to go towards Laurel Mountain to ensure we get credit!
- Schlotzsky's - On 2nd Thursday of each month the Schlotzsky's restaurant located at Balcones Woods and Hwy 183 (Party City parking lot) will donate 20% of their proceeds generated by LME families back to our PTA. More details coming soon.
- Spirit T-Shirts & Hoodies by Verymeri - This year the LME PTA will receive 20% back from the sale of all t-shirt and hoodies.
- My Coke Rewards for Schools - LME has joined the My Coke Rewards for Schools program. Now every time you enjoy a participating Coca-Cola product (and there are lots of them), you can donate the My Coke Rewards points to our school. The donations will help give our students things they needs, like sports gear, creative supplies, books, classroom tools and more. Here’s how you can make a difference:
- Purchase your favorite Coca-Cola drink to get codes. Click HERE for a list of participating brands and how to locate the codes.
- Go to mycokerewards.com (register if you aren’t a member)
- Enter codes to collect points - choose “Donate to Your School” from the six ways to spend points
- Find our school by Zip Code. When our school’s page comes up, click “Donate Points Now” and enter the amount you’d like to donate.
